Illa Baby is PDX's newest entertainment company and they're coming off the starting line with a dance / listening party for Q-Tip's latest hotcake LP, The Renaissance this Thursday at Pala.
Tip's album is beautiful - It purees remnants of Tribe's early earnerst, authentic messages with carefully chosen old school samples - Gettin' Up, the released single (see vid clip below) opens with a sample off Black Ivory's You and I from their LP Don't Turn Around. The Tip we all know and love has returned intact from his not-so-vibrant club-rotation days.
