Special performance by : Black Violin

My lifelong friend Charles McGee (you may remember this impressive young man as the 18 year-old who ran for Portland City Commissioner several years ago) has organized an amazing fundraiser on behalf of his outstanding non-profit, The Black Parent Initiative (The BPI). Based in NE Portland, the BPI serves to "address the significant and longstanding educational and life challenges facing Black children by creating and enhancing support systems for Black parents."

This inaugural fundraiser and launch scheduled for tomorrow night will be the culmination of Charles' efforts to raise financial support for the BPI. As a treat, he has booked Black Violin to come play.

Here're the deats:
Where: Jupiter Hotel, 800 E. Burnside, Portland
When: 5:30 - 7:00 pm
Special Guest: Black Violin
Honorary Co-Chairs: The Honorable Ted Wheeler, Multnomah County Chair; Rich Brown, Bank of America
